The Ellivericks approach the ruins quietly, not out of any attempt to stay hidden, but because in their trepidation they simply don’t have anything to say. They look at each other with wide eyes, each thinking just how surprisingly close this ruin is to town. Sida looks up at what remains of the structure. What clearly used to be a mighty keep has crumbled to something beyond disrepair. There is no roof. There are no upper levels. Huge chunks of the walls have tumbled into the swamp or evaporated into nothingness. The water of the Fogfen laps softly on the stone foundation, and inexplicable bubbles arise from its murk. They approach the entry door. They all grip their weapons tightly, and Sida looks to Pawlingsly while reaching for the handle. Pawlingsly nods slightly and closes his eyes. Sida pulls gently on the door handle, and the entire door comes right off its hinges into her hand. The silence is abruptly broken as Sida chuckles and tosses the door aside. They go in.
