About the Ellivericks

Marb and Pawlingsly, two Umbral Gnome dreamers, fell in love and decided to settle in sleepy Otari, where they hoped they could live small, quiet lives dedicated to their family and their intellectual pursuits. Since settling, they gave birth to Sida and then young Brodefrid. Pawlingsly has adopted a small prairie dog, who he named Cynomie, who follows him everywhere. They live on the north end of town, just between Gallentine Deliveries and Wrin’s Wonders.

Marb Elliverick

Necromancer Wizard, Bibliophile, Lawful Good, ISTJ

Marb is rarely found without her nose in a book and her thoughts on the wonders of life in all its often bizarre and unpredictable forms. She takes odd jobs around Otari when she is asked to do so, or where she thinks it might be of most help to the community. The best paying is her work at the mill, where a reliable mage hand and sometimes a quick hydraulic push is invaluable in such dangerous working conditions. In spite of that, however, she can most often be found in the Dawnflower Library, visiting with her close friend Vandy and exploring the mysteries of the arcane and the secrets of life energy.

Pawlingsly Elliverick

Life Oracle, Starwatcher, Chaotic Neutral, ENFP

Many in Otari rely on warm and friendly Pawlingsly as their personal healer and medic. He is not the only healer in Otari, or even the best one, but he is well-renowned for his soothing bedside manner, and there are plenty of runny noses and dismembered digits to go around here. He loves his patients and this community, but his true passion is not with flesh and bone, but with the cosmos. He has never owed fealty to any particular god, but his connection with the divine comes from an intuitive understanding of the warp and weft that empowers the universe. He has established a close friendship with Wrin Sivinxi, and enjoys contemplating the cosmos with his strange neighbor over a lovely glass of port.

Sida Elliverick

Fighter, Ruin Delver, Neutral Good, ESTP

Sida has always been scrappy and rough-and-tumble. At four, she was already challenging the “big kids” (which were all the bigger for not being gnomes) to tree-climbing contests. She is relentlessly upbeat, prefers life to be simple and uncomplicated, and is easily bored by her parents’ ramblings about books and the universe. She prefers a good joke, a tall tale of the Roseguard, a slap on the back, a warm bed, and a cold ale. She loves her brother, and his melancholy makes her sad, so she’s always trying to cheer him up. She spends most of her time helping farmers in outlying areas with “pest control” issues they might be having, and when she’s not doing that, she’s exploring local ruins in search of forgotten treasure. But she hasn’t quite built up the gumption to visit the old creepy lighthouse, at least not alone.

Brodefrid Elliverick

Scoundrel Rogue, Market Runner, Chaotic Good, ISFJ

Brodefrid is the youngest of the Ellivericks, and as a result he is, like, you know, ugh. Nobody gets him, you know? Especially his parents and sister. Brodefrid is quiet and more than a little brooding. He is good at going unnoticed, blending in, and is a very good listener, and never forgets what he hears. His keen eyes and youthful vigor are extremely valuable to cranky Keeleno Lathenar, who hires him to keep an eye out for deft hands in the market, and also for running errands and deliveries around town. Inasmuch as Keeleno or Brodefrid like anybody, which is not much, they get along decently and trust each other, at the very least. In spite of his taciturnity, because he is the market delivery boy, everybody in Otari knows him and he knows everybody. Most like him, and common consensus is that he will bloom out of this moody phase soon enough. Brodefrid is secretly worried that his parents, in particular his mother, are disappointed in some of the choices he has made and the skills he has acquired.

Cynomie

Prairie Dog Familiar

Cynomie is a prairie dog. Pawlingsly thinks he adopted Cynomie, but he is wrong. Cynomie adopted Pawlingsly. He’s not particularly useful for much, but he is good at digging, and he is cute.
